About Trojans
What are they and What to do about them.

Security Update 3-24 02

Having heard of more and more people finding trojans on their computers in the past few days, nobody should consider themselves safe without KNOWING that their computers are clean.
A virus program and firewall are NOT enough to protect you.
You need a program specifically designed to identify trojans.

This is NOT a joke...If you take it lightly, then you are going to be targeted. For the short time it takes to download a program that will ensure you are safe, you could save yourself from having all of your online accounts wiped out before your eyes. It isn't worth it.
The one suggested is available from Click for info on Trojans from the 1998-2002 Anti-Trojan Network. .

While a free trial version is available, the licensed version includes MANY more trojans, and for only $19, it's worth it.

In light of the high likelihood of obtaining a trojan in this day and time, running it daily is not excessive.

Protect yourself. If you don't, there is nobody else to blame.

What do you do if you FIND a trojan??
DON'T go and immediately change your passwords, because an existing trojan will capture the new passwords as easily as it captured the old...Your priority should be to clean your system. The site mentioned above has a full data base of the effects each trojan can have on your computer....and how to clean them.
Once you THINK your computer is clean...run the program again to make sure...THEN, once you have received a clean bill of health, change all of your passwords IMMEDIATELY. Even if you find your accounts have been breeched, take the time to change them ALL before acting on that. Do NOT use the same password for ANY two accounts...and make sure you use both alpha and numeric symbols...i.e. 6hd32s9q ...Write them down OFFLINE...NEVER have your computer "remember" them for you...

Take responsibility for ensuring the security of your own computers.

Please do NOT take this lightly.

NO JOKE!

Hello,

Other programs not trojans use the same port also if you don't find anything with the disk-scan I think it is harmless.

You get more information about used ports in our knowledgebase.
